The Khao Manee-White Cat of Thailand
The Khao Manee

The Khao Manee is an ancient cat breed in Thailand that dates back hundreds of years and like other breeds from Thailand was bred by the Royal family.
Well known in Thailand, this beauty has been unknown in the West until fairly recently. TICA accepted the Khao Manee for Registration Only status in May 2009 and in September 2011 moved to the next step in gaining full breed recognition, Preliminary New Breed, effective May 2012.
The Khao Manee sport a solid white shiny coat, athletic build, and hypnotic eyes that may be blue , gold, green, brown or odd-eyes, (each a different color). Eyes of different colors are more prevalent in common white cats and white pure breds. This is a feline form of complete heterochromia, a condition that occurs in some other animals, including humans.

The Khao Manee has a heart-shaped head with high cheekbones and jewel-like eyes. Their personality is curious and intelligent- and like other breeds of the Siam, they are interactive and may enjoy playing fetch!
PERSONALITY: Playful, curious, friendly, and outgoing.
WEIGHT: About 8 to 10 pounds.

There are very few breeders of this cat outside of Thailand which makes it one of the most expensive domestic cat breeds in the world. There are other pure white breeds that are more readily available. Other than being a rare breed from Thailand, there is nothing unique about this cat.
