Review of KitNipBox: Dickens the cat approves

A box full of treats and toys arrived from KitNip. KitNip is a monthly subscription box for cat lovers and their feline companions. It arrived in a nicely packaged box, with the contents neatly inside paper wrapping, a thank you card signed by the crew at KitNip, and a list of the contents.

One of our Pet Radio crew is anxious to try out the gifts…. this is Dickens, a 13 year old Siamese.

The other member of our crew, Buster Boy, was not too happy…

Here is what we found inside:

  • A dental health chew toy for cats made with fibrous catnip stalks, that is supposed to help keep your cats teeth while they play with it. A very ingenious invention that I have never seen before.
  • A red satin bow tie from Business Catuals, a business local to me here in Portland.  It slips on to a collar, (not included), and is made from recycled satin sheets!
  • An interactive cat toy called the Cat Dancer, which looks like a wire wand/lure toy.
  • 1 Package of Greenies Smartbites
  • 1 package of Chicken liver treats
  • A hot pink fuzzy mouse
  • A large crochet ball toy
  • Several assorted small ball toys.

All in all, a nice assortment of products, many of which I would not find at my local Petsmart or Petco.

This may not seem that important to some people, but the whole thing appeared to have a very personal touch to it and was not simply thrown into a box.  It just had that kind of vibe to it. I thought the signed card was a nice touch, and the wrapping paper…it made it seem more special and fun! There was also a balance between brand name products  and those made by more artisan like local businesses. I like that.

Signing up is super easy.

Step 1 :Go to the website: https://www.kitnipbox.com/

Step 2: Click on the “How it works” Tab which brings you to a page that allows you to chose your box, from there enter your info and then you are done!

Step 3: wait until KitnipBox arrives, always free delivery, usually take 5-7 business days.

There are three box sizes to choose from:

Starter Box
$9/Month 1 or 2 goodies

Happy Cat Box
$19/Month 4 or more goodies

Multi-Cat Box
$29/Month  6 or more goodies

Every box includes a few extras. I received the Happy Cat Box, and as you can see, I got quite a bit more than 4 items! It was well worth 19 dollars, particularly when that includes shipping!

I only have one cat, so the medium size box was perfect for me. The extras I presume were the small toys, and they were a big hit for Dickens. I do not feed him a lot of treats, so again, the amount was just perfect. The only negative thing about this is that I have to wait until next month to get another box!

KitNipBox has been gracious enough to offer a 15% discount off any of their boxes exclusively to our readers and listeners. with the coupon code: radio15. People should also know KitNip donates a portion of their sales to local rescues such as Brooklyn Animal Action, Stewie to the Rescue, Sean Casey and KitTea. check out their Facebook page too and tell them Pet Radio sent you!
