New Dog Behavior Podcast-Off Leash is a new podcast with host Alexandra Horowitz. She is a cognitive scientist that offers a unique look at how dogs think, reason, communicate, and react.

Have you ever wondered what your dog is thinking, how it sees you and and it’s world? Alexandra answers this question in her book Inside of a Dog and brings this to her podcast.

Alexandra Horowitz is keen on the mind of the dog because she has long been interested in understanding the umwelt of another animal. She has also written about the veracity of animal characters in childrens’ books (for The New York Times), and working dogs and show dogs (for The New Yorker).

Horowitz is a professor at Barnard College, Columbia University, and she teaches seminars in canine cognition. As Senior Research Fellow, she heads the Dog Cognition Lab .
