The Mia Foundation was founded by Sue Rogers in memory of her Chihuahua Mia, who was born with a cleft palate. The Mia Foundation has taken in several dogs with moderate to severe birth defects, rehabilitated them, provided them with needed surgery in some cases.
One of their most recent rescues is Mick whose birth defect does not allow him to stand or walk because his legs do not have enough muscle to support his weight. In this amazing video you can see how Sue rehabilitated him and Mick’s amazing progress.
It really takes a special kind of person to do what Sue does- to see beyond the broken cover of the book to find the treasure inside and have the patience, love, and skills to allow these animals to have an opportunity for a meaningful life.
Suzette Rogers will be on the Pet Radio Show Sunday at 11 am PST to share more of her story, the progress of Mick and the other animals in her care, and to answer your questions. Please join us. If you cannot make the live show, you can listen any time to the podcast at the same link.
