Susan Logan is a regular monthly guest on the show and has been the editor of CAT FANCY, the world’s most widely read cat care and lifestyle magazine, for the past eight years. A veteran in print journalism for more than 20 years, she has spent the past 11 devoted to pet and veterinary topics at BowTie Magazines based in Irvine, Calif.
Under her direction, CAT FANCY received six Muse Medallions from the Cat Writers’ Association in the national magazine category and Logan was awarded the Muse Medallion twice for her monthly editorial column.
As an expert on cat culture, Logan appeared on A&E Biography’s history of Catwoman and on Animal Planet’s tribute to Garfield. She is also a regular speaker at the Cat Writers’ Association’s annual conference.
“As editor of CAT FANCY magazine and CatChannel.com, I would like to see an end to euthanasia of healthy pets in my lifetime and a growing sense of respect and responsibility in our culture toward individuals who cannot speak for themselves, mainly children and animals. I also would like to see an end to human and wildlife trafficking.”
Her first cat book, Cat Calls: Wonderful Stories and Practical Advice from a Veteran Cat Sitter, was published in September 2011.
Logan received a Master’s of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, where she studied under legendary authors Betty Friedan and Gay Talese, and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Sy Gomberg.
A life-long pet lover, Logan is the proud mom of Madison and Sophie, two 3-year-old Maine Coon mixed-breed cats, whom she adopted at the Irvine Animal Care Center. When she isn’t writing and editing, Logan enjoys singing, running and hanging out with her two-legged and four-legged family and friends.
