Local Bar Adopts Out Rescued Dogs

Scott Porter heard about cat cafes and came up with the idea of opening a bar that adopted out dogs in Portland, Oregon. The dogs have their own private area, but are also allowed to walk freely in the bar to meet and greet people.

Mr. Porter teamed up with  Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA), an organization that rescues dogs from high-kill shelters in central California.

The bar Fidos opened in early 2018 and has adopted out over 70 dogs.

“Seeing the rescue dogs bond with their new owners has been extremely rewarding.”
