Heavenly Head Butts is a meaningful look at dealing with the loss of a beloved cat and the hope of what may lie beyond. Allia Zobel Nolan accomplished this with photos, scripture, quotes, and affirmations. Her words flow together in harmony in a way that touches your heart with joy and hope turning sadness into affirmation and a bit of humor. While this book is a bit more serious and poignant than some of her other titles, her writing style of blending humor with relatable feline behavior and interaction shines from the first to last page.
I asked Allia why she wrote this and what she hopes people take away from the book:
“I’ve always had cats, and have had to deal with their passing,” says Zobel Nolan. “But no matter how many times it happens, I’m still devastated. So I wrote the book as much for myself as for other cat lovers. I’m hoping Heavenly Headbutts will not only help those who’re grieving, but also give all cat/pet lovers pause to reflect on the possibility that their pets’ stories don’t end when they die….that they may see their fur babies in some form or manner in the hereafter.”
