Don’t Miss a Minute of the Action-AKC National Championship

Welcome to the 20th Annual AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin

The American Kennel Club and Royal Canin are thrilled to present the 20th AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin.

The National Championship week of events will be held from December 8th through December 13th. The week begins, once again, with the Orlando cluster consisting of the Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay, the Brevard Kennel Club, the Central Florida Kennel Club and Orlando Dog Training Club. The day before the AKC National Championship, dogs and their owner-handlers are taking part in the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals, with the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals – Best NOHS in Show happening on Saturday, December 12th. Several Specialty shows are occurring on Friday as well.  The AKC Royal Canin National All-Breed Puppy and Junior Stakes are also taking place on Friday. New this year is the AKC Fast CAT Invitational, where dogs will compete to see which is the fastest. The finals take place on Friday, where “Fastest Dog in the USA” and “Speed of the Breed Champion” will be declared.

Out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin will not have spectators at any of the events held at the OCCC December 8-13, 2020. Attendance will be limited to exhibitors (handlers, handler assistants and owners), judges, production crew, and event staff. There will be numerous safety requirements in place, including, but not limited to, the wearing of face coverings, social distancing and sanitizing stations.

In light of these necessary safety changes, the American Kennel Club is pleased to offer a viewing option to enhance the experience of the 20th annual AKC National Championship: daytime conformation breed judging in all rings will be live streamed all day on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, 2020. Breed judging live streams will be available at www.AKCChampionshipLive.com. In order to provide this level of coverage, there will be a one-time streaming fee of $3 for one day of all-breed judging or $5 for both days. Fees to watch the breed live streams are purely to cover cost. One-hundred percent of any net proceeds will be donated equally to the following dog related charities; Take the Lead to further the care of fellow exhibitors; AKC Humane Fund to support Parent Club breed rescue and domestic violence shelters that permit pets; the AKC Canine Health Foundation to support Parent Club research grants; AKC Reunite to help support AKC Pet Disaster Relief and the AKC Museum of the Dog.

The National Championship Groups and Best in Show, Best Bred-by Exhibitor and BBE Groups, NOHS Groups and Finals, Puppy & Junior Stakes Groups and Best in Stakes, Junior Showmanship Finals, Agility, Obedience, and Rally will continue to be live streamed on a complimentary basis on AKC.tv and will remain available on demand. All results will be available at www.akc.org.
