Chewie the Chi Interview
Hello Pet Radio friends! Buster Boy here with another interview with a new friend. I met Chewie the Chi and had a great time. He is my kind of dog!
Hi Chewie. Tell us how you met your human and your new home.
“From what I remember, I was walking the streets with no where to go when a human took me to a safe place called Yuma Humane Society. From there a nice lady named Roberta took me to her home called Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue. I stayed there until Roberta’s daughter Sarah took me home and I have been there ever since! Now I call her Mom and she treats me very nice!” Chewie.
The Chewie Mom
Roberta founded and runs Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue, a small dog rescue dedicated to saving at-risk dogs. Many of the dogs she rescues are older or require a good amount of medical care. She works with Daisy Mountain Vet in Anthem, AZ. All the dogs are certified healthy, vaccinated, fixed, microchipped, and have full dental work done before put up for adoption. Do you have any health issues that impedes your quality of life?
I am lucky to not have any major health issues other than dental. Mom says I have to eat food that is soaked in water to make it easier to chew. This is because 17 of my teeth were pulled.
Is Chewie laid back and mellow or full of energy? What is your favorite activity?
Definitely very laid back. I likes to take naps and will sometimes play with small toys. Car rides, barking at big dogs and giving high fives is fun too.
What do you think drew your Mom to you?
My unique look (most people comment how I looks like Gizmo from Gremlins) and my glowing personality drew her to me. I love her for this and even more when she gives me cheese.
You got that right! Do you have furry siblings?
Just me and Mom. She is not that furry.
Surprised by your popularity on Instagram?
Yes. We started the page just for fun and then It grew slowly to what it is now (just over 66,000 followers). I love reading comments about how I make someone’s day. Its the next best thing to cheese.
What do you want your fans to know about you?
Chewie: I am an amazing dog with an amazing Mom and she says I am a prime example of the importance of animal rescue. No matter how I started my life, all I need is and give is loving doggy kisses!
