A Jack Russell terrier named Jake is thought to have been stranded on a high cliff for two days before being rescued today in England.
A search and rescue team used ropes to repel down to reach the dog that was on a small ledge about 33 feet from the top of a cliff with a sheer drop of 164 feet.
Rescuers lured the frightened dog into a basket to bring him up.
“At first Jake was scared and backed away from them, but they had taken some food with them and used that to coax him over and get him in the box,” reported a spokesperson. It took three hours.
The spokesman said the 10-year-old terrier was “shaken up and cold but seemed to be fine”.
