It’s all about the Corgi= The Breed
There are two distinct breeds:
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a cattle herding dog breed that originated in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is one of two breeds known as a Welsh Corgi. Pembroke Welsh Corgis descended from the Spitz family of dogs. Wikipedia
- Life span: 12 – 15 years
- Temperament: Outgoing, Friendly, Tenacious, Bold, Playful, Protective
- Weight: Male: 22–31 lbs (10–14 kg), Female: 22–29 lbs (10–13 kg)
- Colors: Black & Tan, Fawn, Sable, Black & White, Red
Cardigan Welsh Corgi
- Life span: 12 – 15 years
- The Kennel Club: standard
- Temperament: Devoted, Affectionate, Intelligent, Alert, Active, Companionable
- Colors: Merle, Brindle & White, Blue Merle & White, Sable & White, Black & White, Red & White
- Weight: Female: 25–34 lbs (11–15 kg), Male: 30–38 lbs (14–17 kg)
The Cardigan is around 8 pounds heavier than the Pembroke.
