Frosty was a farm kitten found nearly frozen to death in a barn on 12/30/13 in Sullivan Wisconsin. Severely emaciated, dehydrated and malnourished, she was slowly thawed out and survived the night.
The temps had already been below zero for many days with extreme wind chills and dangerous temps in the forecast. Already on the brink of death, she would not have survived for much longer.
It was discovered Frosty suffered from:
Lungs full of pneumonia
Frost Bite on ears and feet
Secondary respiratory infection
Blind in one eye and the other eye not seeing too well (due to being frozen)
No feeling in her back legs and she failed all tests.
Lots of nerve and muscle damage
The prognosis was months of critical care and rehab, and a wheelchair.
Frosty has just celebrated her 6 month birthday!
